ABOUT
Nadine Ng is a freelance musician, performing in orchestras such as The Philharmonic Orchestra Singapore, Singapore Lyric Opera Orchestra, Spot Pocket Opera Theatre, New Opera Singapore, Musicians' Initiative, and has been appointed as the concertmistress of The Purple Symphony since 2020.
As a recipient of the OCBC Local Undergraduate Scholarship Award, Nadine graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Honours degree from the Royal College of Music under full scholarship. Besides playing in symphony and string orchestras, she also enjoys playing in quartets and other chamber ensembles. She performs on the mandolin and violin with her duo partner, Jeremy Koh, as Double Duo. Invigorated by a common interest to bring the live classical music experience to new audiences, the multi- instrumental Double Duo explores a wide spectrum of repertoire ranging from pre- renaissance era cantigas to the parlour songs of the early 20th century period and beyond. Since its formation in 2022, the duo has been awarded first prize in both duo performance and chamber music categories at the International Vivaldi Music Competition. They also received a special mention award at the International BTHVN Wien Competition after making their duo debut in a concert at the Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator.
As a performer, Nadine has led music and artistic direction for various multidisciplinary projects on the violin, and occasionally performs on the mandolin. She conducts and coaches student string ensembles, and also teaches violin privately.
